The Corteo Storico Matildico is an event that has been held every year in Quattro Castella, in the province of Reggio Emilia, since 1955.

For some years now, the traditional historical reconstruction of the meeting between Matilda of Canossa and Emperor Henry V, which took place in 1111 in Quattro Castella, has been flanked by the realisation of a theatrical performance that reconstructs a historical episode in the life of the Grancontessa.

Starting in 2022, the promotion of these episodes also takes place through short films, every aspect of which I take care of, from photography to direction, from editing to colour grading.

I have been a full member of the Matildic Committee since 2019 and am responsible for every aspect of communication.

October 1092: during the siege of Monteveglio, a Canossian bastion attacked by the imperial army, Matilda convenes a council at the castle of Carpineti to decide whether to continue the decade-long battle against Henry IV or to submit definitively. This is one of the most important (and exciting) episodes in Matilda's life.

The short film is in fact a prequel to the video made in 2022 and seen together they reconstruct one of the most famous episodes in the life of Matilda of Canossa: The Siege of Monteveglio (1092).
